Congratulations for the life you have together. David, thank you for sharing the beginning journey with Vida, in Spanish, vida is life.I know you know this, but wanted to mention it anyway. It’s wonderful to have such appreciation for her and your lives. I applaud you David, for claiming and honestly sharing the real feelings that evolve as a new father. You are a role model for dads, who due to their history, social pressures and concept of being a man or dad can’t acknowledge or even verbalize negative feelings. I respect your disclosure as a therapist who graciously can share human emotions so that men and couples have permission to do the same.
There is such beauty in the feelings, no shame, no excuses necessary.
